Welcome to the third Showcase Performer News for 2025.    Please make sure you read and area aware of all the news in this email.

We are now one month (31 days) away from Performance Day.

Don't worry if things seem like they won't be ready by then.  You'll be surprised how quickly things come together in the last few weeks, especially after the dress rehearsal.

It is super important now that you attend every class (as far as possible of course), and that you practice and do mental rehearsal of your dances in between classes.  This will help everyone get the most out of class time, and help you feel more confident.

Find the answers to all the questions you have about costumes, hair, makeup, shoes, tights, dress rehearsal, performance day, and more.

The Showcase 2025 Performer Guide includes vital information that you need to know about. 

Make sure you download and look through the guide so you know what it contains, and can prepare for both dress rehearsal on Sunday 19 October and the performance day on Saturday 1 November.

I suggest you use the Performer Guide in two ways:

1. Scan it so you know where to find information

Scan through it straight away so you know what information is in there, and you can find answers immediately and with clarity.  It is the central source of information, and is the most accurate source of information (unless there are typos and errors, which there probably are because there is so much to do in so little time).

2. Read in detail

As each key date approaches, read in detail to ensure you know all the things you need to bring, where you need to be when, and how to prepare.

If there are additional updates, they will be 

• added to the Performer Guide, which is always availalbe on the Showcase Performers webpage
•  and included in any Performers News
• post in the Dragonfly Dance Closed Facebook Group
  

Costume Call Week

Monday 13 to Saturday 18 October

It is Costume Call Week during classes in the week before dress rehearsal.

The purpose of Costume Call Week is to:

• ensure all costume items are correct
• identify and address any potential problems with the costume, including if any adjustment are require
• help you feel more confident for the performance by giving you an additional opportunity to practice in your costume

Please make sure to bring all of your costume items to class that week, including:

• costume
• tights
• shoes
• accessories (eg hair pieces, belts)
• underwear you will wear on the night

Hair and makeup

Makeup is not required.  If you are wearing a headpiece, wear your hair as you wil for the performance.  If you are not wearing a hair piece or hat, you can wear your hair as you usually do for clss.

Arrive for class in your normal class wear (with underwear and tights (if applicable) already on).  You can change into your costume when advised by the teacher.

Ticket sale update

We have 331 tickets available.

To date, 233 have been sold.  Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Fliers will be coming soon, but in the meantime, please direct family and friends to either:

• the showcase webpage (www.dragonflydance.com.au/showcase2025 where they can find more information and the link to purchase tickets, or 
• directly to the TryBooking page where tickets are sold.

Early bird prices are available until Friday 10 October.
