Heart Center family,
Summer has arrived! If you are like Theo and I, this time of year naturally draws us outdoors. I am writing this message from a wooded retreat and feeling the rejuvenation that connecting with nature brings.
At the studio, we notice a quiet spaciousness. There is something beautiful about this rhythm. With smaller class sizes, our gatherings become even more intimate, creating space for deeper connection, reflection, and personal growth. For those of you who continue to show up, we see you — and we thank you.
We are delighted to be offering a few newer experiences this season:
- Reset & Restore (Fridays) – an invitation into exploring yoga and readying yourself for your weekend.
- Embodied Mat Pilates (Tuesdays & Thursdays) – grounding strength and awareness.
- Kundalini Yoga – a powerful and less westernized practice that opens new energetic pathways.
We are deeply looking forward to our Reiki training this July. This offering is not only for those who feel called to become practitioners, but for anyone who desires a deeper connection to their own innate healing wisdom. Reiki is a gentle, ancient practice of hands-on energy healing that supports you in reconnecting to your intuitive self.
If you feel curious, trust that nudge. Please reach out by email or phone with any questions — we would love to support you in exploring whether this is right for you.
Lion’s M.A.N.E on 8/8 will be a magical, immersive experience of movement and creative expression. At the Lion’s Mane gathering, we will lay down a 25-foot canvas and explore movement, sound, and embodied creativity together. This is a space to play, release, and align. We encourage you to wear white, bring a friend, and prepare to get a little paint on you. Let yourself be free.
Please help support our Community Beautification Initiative the next time you come in to The Heart Center by putting your thoughts on a heart so we can share it with King County! Read more about this project below. As always, we are so grateful for this community — each of you who shows up, shares your energy, and contributes to this collective space of awakening.
We look forward to seeing you soon — in movement, in stillness, and in heart.
Hari Om,
Asha

Help support our Community Beautification Initiative
Place your thoughts on a heart at The Heart Center so we can share our collective voices with King County for grant funding opportunities.
Let us unite to address challenges in White Center — scattered trash, unsafe activity, and a sense that the space has been forgotten — on 15th Ave SW between SW Roxbury and 98th, right behind our studio.
This project is about more than plants and paint — it is about reclaiming a space that belongs to all of us. It’s about showing that when a community comes together — even a forgotten corner can become a place of beauty, safety, and belonging.
This block is worth investing in. Our community is worth investing in. A thoughtfully designed and cared for green space can help us:
- create a safer, cleaner environment for the White Center community
- reduce litter and improve visibility in the alley
- support the birds and wildlife already thriving in our area.
- offer a shared space for outdoor community gatherings
- provide opportunities for small businesses to host pop‑ups, music, and seasonal events
- strengthen the sense of connection and care in our neighborhood.
Hearts are in the studio, please drop in and show your support!

Present Sense — Befriending the Now
with Brodie Peterson
Saturday, June 27
2-4 pm
$33
Catch your breath, come to your senses, & befriend the moment. When we bring awareness to our present-moment sensations, we become more able to notice & identify “shapes” that are no longer serving us.
This practice of awareness creates conditions for change and opens up the potential to connect to the very heart of life, a wellspring of renewal and possibility. To do this in community allows us to practice staying with ourselves while connecting with others – and discovering the profound gift of being truly witnessed.
Present Sense is a two-hour workshop designed to support you in:
- Deepening your connection to yourself and to life
- Building greater capacity for authentic listening and relating
- Nourishing the deeper parts of your being, in community!
Drawing on various wisdom traditions, we will connect with our sense of belonging in the web of life, tend to our nervous systems, and cultivate basic skills for inner work – to practice and play in relationship with self and other.

Resounding Freedom
Saturday, July 18
4-5:30 pm
led by Sarah Lucie
"My voice was never meant to sing other people’s songs.”
Resounding Freedom is for people who are ready to stop performing someone else’s version of life and begin listening to their own. People who know there is more aliveness, more expression, more truth available, and are willing to step into a little discomfort to access it.
These gatherings are guided primarily through sound, but they are not about singing well or sounding a certain way. They are about resonance, permission, and expression. Using your own voice, literally and metaphorically, as a doorway back to yourself.
Together we explore what has been quietly blocking your natural expression. As energy moves, you are invited into active exploration. Making noise. Getting curious. Letting yourself be silly, honest, and real.
This is a space to drop the mask, let your weird out, and reconnect with parts of yourself that may have gone quiet.
You will leave feeling clearer, more whole, and more at home in your own voice, ready to create your own path and sing your own song.
