Human beings have an amazing capacity for accomplishments and survival. Perhaps more than any other group, athletes are notorious for chasing the elusive PR with dogged determination—just a little faster, a little higher, a little further beyond known limits. We want to push the physical and mental boundaries of human ability.
If you know me at all— even just a little bit —then you know I am a man of faith.
One of my favorite Bible verses, Philippians 4:13, says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This verse serves as a mantra for me in many areas of my life, including fitness. It provides hope in the midst of struggles and trials, and enablement in the areas of strength, endurance, and wisdom.
It’s important to remember, especially when it comes to fitness and wellness, that we are all in a constant quest to be better today than we were yesterday. And better tomorrow than the day before.
Of course, we all have obstacles we’re fighting to overcome. Life is full of them. But we don’t give up. We encourage each other and, in doing so, we ourselves are encouraged. To keep going. Keep fighting. Keep improving.
You can do it! And we can help you.
